Helianthus

A short about a mourning father who finds a child. The two of them discover the joy in life again in a downcast, grungy world of flower people.

Pipeline:

Our animation pipeline involved rigging and animating in Maya, then importing everything into Unreal Engine for final rendering. Early in production, we aimed for a stylized, painterly look and chose Unreal for its flexibility with post-process materials.

I handled importing and rendering all assets and animations in Unreal, ensuring everything remained consistent with the environment layout.​

Enviornment:

I was responsible for environment layout, lighting, and visual effects within the engine. I also modeled and textured additional assets as needed.

Final Environment 

Animation & VFX:

I created the initial rough blockout for all scenes to establish timing and staging across the project. I also assisted with rigging the little plant character and vines. In the shots shown below, I was responsible for animating the main characters, plants, vines, and VFX, from blockout to final polish.
