Overview:
Below is a trailer I edited together showcasing highlights from the game itself. The game's development took place over a three-month time frame. The visuals for this game were heavily inspired by Chinese and Japanese culture. During the game's development, I was primarily responsible for character animations. I also assisted with rigging, texturing, UI art, and other areas as needed.
Rigging/Animation:
Below is a reel showcasing the animations I created. Maya was used for all rigging and animation. During the game's development, I was given the constraint to keep animations simple and choppy due to the large number of characters and animations needed in the short time frame of 4 months.
Although I was responsible for all character animations, I did not create the character models themselves and only rigged some of the models. Animations with a * next to them are ones where I rigged the model as well.
Texturing:
I also helped out with creating textures and materials. I was responsible for creating materials for all characters and assisted with texturing additional environment/prop assets. All textures were hand-painted in an Adobe Substance Painter. I was responsible for all models/UV maps except the Red Panda, Koi Fish, Bird, and Wisp, I received those models with UVs already unwrapped before texturing them.
As the game is heavily inspired by Chinese/Japanese culture, we wanted to incorporate paper-like elements in the materials to make assets look like they were made from origami. We also wanted to give assets paper materials to compliment the low poly models and stylized animations.
UI Art:
I also contributed to the game as a UI artist. For UI Art, I created assets for clickable buttons, a progress bar, and dialogue box. Ass UI assets were created in Photoshop.
To the right are the clickable buttons I created. Since the game takes inspiration from Asian culture, I wanted to make sure to incorporate that into UI elements.

Throughout the game, the player must collect coins to complete levels. I created the progress bar to show how many coins were collected.

Finally, I also designed the dialogue box which can also be seen throughout the game.
